India’s Covid Crisis Affects Covax Vaccine-Sharing Plan For Other Countries

Coronavirus cases are steadily increasing in India. International plans to ensure equal access to vaccines are being blown away. Unlike the plan, there is a shortage of 140 million doses of vaccines.

Serum Institute of India (SII), the largest single supplier to the Covax scheme, has not made any of its planned shipments since exports were suspended in March. Note that the UN children’s agency purchases and distributes vaccines from UNICEF Kovacs.

Let us know that the leaders of G7 countries and EU states are appealing to share their dose.

UNICEF says the data it has commissioned suggests that this group of countries can donate around 153 million doses, while still fulfilling its commitments to vaccinate its population.
