Health department alert about new lambda variant of coronavirus

As the second wave of corona infection slowed down in the country, the agitation of the third wave and different variants of coronavirus has shaken the health department. Recently, cases of delta plus variant came to the fore, after that news was received that a case of kappa variant came to light in Uttar Pradesh on Friday but the country has not yet reported any case of lambda variant. It is being told that this new variant of Corona is more dangerous than Delta Plus.

Had it entered India, it would have been traced by INSACOG (The Indian SARS-CoV-2 Consortium of Genomenes).”

“We should be cautious because the virus is under pressure around the world. Whenever the virus is under pressure, it takes on some new characteristics,” Dr. Paul said, adding that the global variant in the form of a lambda variant Its full potential is yet to be explored. The World Health Organization has described this new variant as more dangerous.

Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry said, “Lambda is the 7th variant of corona infection, which was notified by the World Health Organization on June 14. This variant was first reported in Peru. Our INSACOG is monitoring the situation. Has been doing.”

Let us tell you, the lambda variant was first reported from Peru, this variant is now said to be responsible for about 82 percent of Kovid-19 cases in Peru. Malaysia’s Health Ministry said that this variant is proving to be fatal compared to Delta Plus. Delta Plus is the variant that is driving the pandemic wave across the world and is believed to be responsible for India’s second wave.
